The popular and well known names associated with Caucasian Rugs are Shrivan, Daghestan, Kazak, Quba and Gendge rugs. Quba rugs developed from early Armenian rugs. They were made in seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Interesting designs are found and the weaving is generally firm and fine. Symmetrical placement of conventional trees and leaves are also found in Caucasian Rugs. Blue, ivory, deep red, old rose, light green and brownish black are some of the popular colors of Caucasian Rugs. The Azeri Turks made the Shrivan rugs popular among the mass. The Shrivan rugs are not as good as Quba rugs. They are pile of short rugs with flat backs. Shrivan rugs with floral designs are antique.
